Someone called me with an unknown number. I wanted to tell him it was a wrong number, but he called me “Stephen,” saying I was his brother and that he wanted to send me ₦35,000. The moment I heard ₦35k, I became less concerned about his identity. Then the man said he didn’t want to send the money to my account. Instead, he told me to go to a POS shop and give the attendant the phone because he wanted to explain to her how he would send the money. So I quickly ran to a nearby POS shop and asked the attendant how much it would cost to withdraw ₦35,000. She said ₦300. I then gave her the phone because the man was still on the line. While they were talking, i noticed her pressing the POS machine. I thought maybe she was entering an account number or something—not knowing she was actually sending ₦35,000 to the caller 🥹💔 After the call and transaction, the lady told me she had sent the ₦35,000 😳😳 I was shocked and said, “Sent what?” To cut the story short, we tried calling the guy back, but his number was no longer reachable. When we checked Truecaller, his number was saved as “fool.😭💔 My question now is , who’s fit to bear the name(fool)?😭💔
