This is where many Nigerians get it wrong.

Stealing, Robbery, and Armed Robbery are NOT the same,but all can land you in prison.

Many people joke with this until they enter real trouble.

2. Röbbery:
You take it with force or threat.
The person knows you are taking it, and they are afraid.

Punishment can be many years imprisonment, often up to 21 years or even life depending on the circumstances.

3. Armed R0bbery:
Now you add weapon.
Gun, knife, anything dangerous.
At this point, the law is no longer smiling.

The punishment for armed robbery is dèáth sentence.

The punishment increases as you move from stealing to robbèry to armèd róbbery.

One mistake can upgrade your case overnight.

Before you say “na small thing”

Make sure you know what the law calls it.

Because ignorance does not reduce prison sentence.
